National Pet Fire Safety Day
Pets are so important to us that it’s only natural to dedicate an entire day to learning how to keep them safe during one of the scariest situations imaginable.
History:
Together, the Kennel Club and ADT Security Services held National Pet Fire Safety Day in the late 2000s to help make pet owners aware of the hazards their pets could be posing in the home related to fire. Many fires are caused by pets, especially when they are left alone in a property. And so, it's important to discuss who in your home is responsible for helping a pet escape in the event of a blaze and carry out some practice escape drills. Also, you can use Kennel Club advice to pet-proof your home against fires and install a pet alert notice in a window for use by emergency services.
