National Bird Day falls on January 5 every year. We celebrate birds for their beauty and for their importance to our everyday lives. Birds fill our world with song, color, and mystery.

History:

National Bird Day is a holiday that celebrates the importance of birds in our environment. Many birds are endangered or protected, due to habitat loss or illegal pet trade. In order for birds to be healthy and thrive, we also need to be healthy and thrive. So maybe you can give them a hand! National Bird Day was founded in 2002 and is a great way to celebrate our winged friends. Just ask the Dodo, the Labrador Duck, or the Passenger Pigeon, which are now extinct.

How To Celebrate/ To-do List Ideas:

  • Feed the birds.
